Privacy Policy
This policy describes how the Momentum iPhone app handles information, based on how the shipped app works. Momentum has no developer backend and no Momentum account. Workout and settings data are written on your device. The only optional outbound network use in the app is loading a YouTube embed when you open Watch Demo.
Who we are
Momentum is published by BigGames (“we”, “us”). Privacy questions: use the contact details in App Store Connect for Momentum, or reach us through the App Store product page support link (marketing site).
Summary
- No Momentum account, sign-in, or cloud profile operated by us
- No advertising, analytics, crash-reporting, or tracking SDKs in the app
- No HealthKit, Motion & Fitness, or other health-sensor APIs
- Reminders are local notifications on your iPhone (not remote push / APNs)
- Training data stays in the app’s on-device store unless your own device backup includes the app container
- Opening Watch Demo loads an embedded video from YouTube (youtube-nocookie.com) in a WebView
Data stored on your device
Momentum uses on-device SwiftData and UserDefaults. We do not operate a server that receives this data from the app.
SwiftData (app database)
- Routine — reminder window settings (start time, duration, interval, weekdays, tone, enabled / sound / haptics, current workout assignment)
- Daily records — per-day status (for example pending, acknowledged, completed, paused), acknowledgement metadata, optional reply text (only if you turn on Save notification replies), reminder counts, assigned / completed workout IDs, and session log details (exercise, weight, reps, difficulty, suggested next load)
- Coach messages — short in-app coach / reply thread text for a day
- Exercise loads — last weights, reps, difficulty, and related suggestion inputs per exercise
- Slot variation preferences — which variation you prefer for a workout slot
- Workout day overrides — customized slot lists / titles for a day or sticky override
- Garage inventory — equipment you enable and weight options used for suggestions
UserDefaults (preferences)
- Onboarding completion
- Whether to save notification reply text (off by default)
- One-time migration / garage seed flags
- Per-tone indexes used to rotate local coach copy
This information stays on your iPhone. If you use Apple device backup (for example iCloud Backup or a computer backup you control), Apple’s backup may include the app’s container. That is device backup behavior — not a Momentum cloud sync feature. Momentum does not use CloudKit or iCloud sync for these records.
Notifications
Momentum schedules local notifications during your reminder window using iOS notification APIs on your device. It does not register for remote push or use Apple Push Notification service (APNs) for the reminder sequence.
You can deny or revoke notification permission in iOS Settings. Reply actions may store text in a daily record only if Save notification replies is enabled (default off).
The app may use Background App Refresh solely to re-reconcile local notification schedules on your device. That path does not send your data to us.
Network use
Core coaching, reminders, logging, and garage features do not require an internet connection and do not call a Momentum API (the app has no URLSession client to our servers).
If you open Watch Demo, Momentum loads an embedded player from youtube-nocookie.com in a WebView, using a hard-coded video ID from the movement catalog. The app does not attach your workout logs, name, or account data to that request. YouTube / Google may still process typical WebView request data (such as IP address and device / browser signals) under their terms and privacy practices. If you never open Watch Demo, that network use does not occur.
Opening system Settings from the app uses iOS Settings — it is not a web analytics destination.
What we do not collect
- No account registration, password, or Sign in with Apple for Momentum
- No advertising identifiers used for ads
- No App Tracking Transparency / IDFA use
- No analytics or crash SDK that uploads your workout history to us
- No HealthKit reads or writes; no clinical or research frameworks
Fitness & health-related information
Session logs, loads, and related training status are fitness / workout records you create in the app. They are stored on device for coaching and logging inside Momentum. We do not sell this information, use it for advertising, or transmit it to our own servers. See also the health & safety notes in our Terms of Use.
Children
Momentum is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Your choices
- Delete the app to remove on-device Momentum data in the app container (subject to any device backups you keep).
- Manage notification permission in iOS Settings → Momentum.
- Leave Save notification replies off (default) if you do not want reply text stored in daily records.
- Avoid Watch Demo if you do not want YouTube network requests.
App Store & Apple
When you download Momentum from the App Store, Apple may process information as described in Apple’s Privacy Policy.
Changes
We may update this policy as the app changes. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Material changes will be reflected on this page.
